Museums
Glasgow
has over twenty wonderful museums and
galleries, each with it's own individual collection and events program
and some with free admission.
Some
highlights: The People's Palace, houses
collections and exhibitions documenting the
social history of the city.
The Scottish
Football Museum, details the
history of football in Scotland, it's social impact and also has
displays of memorabilia.
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
is
Glasgow's flagship gallery and has one of
Europe's great civic art collections. Attracting
more then a million visitors each year!
The Museum of Transport, attractively
displayed trolley buses, trams, locomotives,
cars, fire engines and pedal bicycles.
The
Lighthouse is Scotland's Centre for Architecture and Design.
This former Glasgow
Herald Building building was Charles Rennie Mackintosh's first
public commission.
